Stations on the Tōkaidō
Start your journey on the Tōkaidō road, from Edo to Kyōto, through the charming landscapes of 1833 Japan. First, the bonkei artist Kimura Tōsen created the actual potted landscapes, which were later transformed into woodblock prints by Utagawa Yoshishige. Sadly not all were suitable for shirtification (upscale, retouch, clean-up) but we will keep on trying. Meanwhile we strongly suggest reading more about this great endeavor.
